Poulnabrone Dolmen facts

  • Ancient Tomb: Poulnabrone is a portal tomb that dates back to the Neolithic period. It was built between 4200 BC and 2900 BC.

  • The Burren: The monument is located in the Burren National Park. This area is famous for its unique “karst” limestone landscape.

Location

Poulnabrone Dolmen is located on the high limestone plateau of the Burren in County Clare. It sits along the R480 road between Ballyvaughan and Kilfenora. It is one of the most visited and photographed archaeological sites in Ireland.
